Unforgettable Dr. Seuss Quotes
It is almost time to celebrate the birthday of the famous children’s author, Dr Seuss. He was a writer, poet and cartoonist, among other things, in America that wrote funny, zany children’s books. His real name was Theodor Seuss Griesel and was born on March 2, 1904 in Springfield, Massachusetts.
What makes this year remarkable is that twenty years after his death, there will be a new Dr Seuss book released in July 2015 called “What Pet Should I Get?”
My little monkeys love Dr Seuss. It is the books that we use as reading practice. I can recite Green Eggs and Ham by heart, because I’ve read it so many times for my children as a bedtime story. When they were old enough to start reading English, it was always their favourite book to read to me. The rhyming words make it an easy first book to read in a second language and my little ones love the funny made-up words.
There are so many life lessons in the Dr. Seuss books. I’m sharing just a few that spoke to my heart.
From The Lorax
This wonderful book encourages young readers to care for the environment and was one of my son’s favourites when he was little.
Happy Birthday to You! is a story of what happens in Katroo on your Birthday. Who does not love celebrating a birthday?
Horton Hears a Who! is a book about a kind elephant Horton, who tries to protect the tiny little creatures. My monkeys loved this saying, it makes them feel important.
Oh, The Places You’ll Go! is about believing in yourself as you go out into the world.
And my Favourite from I can Read with my Eyes Shut! This book conveys what a joy it is to read.

I love this. Target recently had all Dr. Seuss books on sale for $5 so we stockpiled on several of them for our almost-6-year old who is currently in Kindergarten and is learning to read. She takes remarkably good care of her things for a kid her age, so I am confident those books will be in almost-mint condition when my baby is older and is also learning how to read.
Dr. Seuss is the best! I love the bookmarks, too, that is so great!
Hi Emily
Thanks for stopping by. My kids have all the Dr. Seuss books. I bought them for my teenager 16 years ago and the youngest is now starting to read them.

We are big fans of Dr Seuss fans in my house. The kids got a big collection of his books a few years ago and love reading them before bed, some of him quotes are classics x
Love these quotes and Dr. Seuss! Those bookmarks are awesome and will need to print for my first grader who loves to read!
I was brought up on Dr. Seuss. Used to love The Cat In The Hat. It’s really important to instill a love of words into our kids, isn’t it?
Those are classics, to be sure! I’m actually pretty excited to hear that a new Dr. Seuss book is coming out, I’ll make sure to read it one of these days!
Happy Birthday Dr Seuss!
This is such a great post! How long did it take you to choose these? I would have the hardest time narrowing it down, there are too many amazing quotes to choose!
LOOOOVE Dr Seuss!!! You have only been blogging 5 months, and you already figured out blog hops, Amazon ads, wordpress, and having your own .com. You are way ahead of where I was at 5 months. I’m just going to hide behind my “Well, I was giving birth to my 4th baby when I started public blogging” excuse, (excuses, excuses) as I tell you, that you are a rocket. Great job.
Dr. Seuss always has the best quotes! Always so motivating and personable too.
We love Dr. Seuss around here too. I too can paraphrase word for word ‘Green Eggs and Ham’ (because it is a favorite around here), and ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ as well. My favorite, however is ‘Oh the Places You Will Go’. There are just so many fantastic quotes you can take from that book!
Love it! Pinning.
