Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

Spending time with your kids on Christmas is a privilege and not a right. Ask any parent who had to negotiate visitation rights for the Holidays.

I’m missing my kids. They have been spending time with the other mom and dad while we are in the fortunate position of having Christmas as a family. As a blended family you learn to have your kids for Christmas every second year. I will be picking them up tomorrow to spend a wonderful Christmas together.

My oldest is almost grown up and this might be the last family Christmas where we will all be together while he is still under my roof. I still remember his first nativity play where he was a sheep. He was still in nappies and just sat there with big eyes watching everything around him. Now I have to look up to him, as he is already taller than I am.

It is exciting to have Christmas on the actual date instead of having it in early or on Boxing Day and I am like a little kid getting counting sleeps till Christmas eve.

At the same time today my heart goes out to all the moms and dads that have to spend their Christmas without their kids. You never get use to it, but it does get better.

Hope your Christmas is spend with all the people that you love and if not, that you still have a lovely holiday.
